FASHION NEWS: SOLANGE KNOWLES'S WEDDING

You would have to been living under a rock to have missed the nuptials this past weekend of Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles's and her longtime beau, video director Alan Ferguson this past weekend in New Orleans.

Captivating in a caped Humberto Leon for Kenzo gown and sporting a natural afro hairstyle, the stunning bride showed how much she has come into her own over the years.

Knowles and Ferguson arrives to their ceremony in style riding white painted bicycles, which Solange's was adorned with cream roses.

Stephane Rolland was the designer of the epic caped jumpsuit Solange wore to pedal to her nuptials...(can't expect a last to wear a gown while riding to her wedding now can you?"

The entire wedding party went an untraditional route with everyone wearing white with Beyonce and Solange's 60 year old mother, Tina Knowles, looking exceptionally gorgeous in a fitted white gown with a high front slit. Seriously....this Mom & Grandmother looks beyond hot!!!

What a beautiful wedding and even more beautiful couple. This was by far a wedding where you can see the brides individual style and it wasn't lost in the wedding gown, as often happens. Kudos to Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson for staying true to their own chic style.

VIERNES

TGIF!!

The temps are quickly dropping so it's time to start layering your clothing (if you haven't already). I don't like to wear bulky coats when I have to drive...just makes me feel like a stuffed turkey when I buckle my seat belt LOL. I opt for something thicker underneath my coat, such as a chunky knit sweater, or this sweater dress I'm wearing here, then just layer a trench or other layer that's not bulky & you have yourself a chic look that's also comfy while sitting in traffic.

Stay warm Chicas,
Osa

Hola CHICsters,

I'm finally back to blogging after a longgggg hiatus. I have so many great Fall/Winter clothing to share with you as well as styling & beauty tips. The air was so crisp today here in Atlanta, and as I've shared with you all before Autumn is my fave season. If it's too hot...and I'm not at a beach or somewhere tropical, I'm not about that "sweating for no reason" life :-)

This is what I wore today & it encompasses a few of my faves Fall/Winter must haves; leather pants, black turtlenecks, over the knee boots, & camel colored coats ( this one was a steal from H&M for only $29.99) *gasp*

These boots are 4yrs old by Dollhouse, but I'll put the links to similar options below.

CHIC FINDS

Ladies, trust me when I tell you that you don't need to go out and overhaul your entire closet every season. I don't know who has the time or money to do all of that because I sure don't. All you need to update your look are a few key pieces such as a statement necklace, or earrings, a sleek pair of boots, and a Bordeaux mani to name a few and you will be having heads doing double takes when you walk out the door.

FALL FAHION FORECAST: LEATHER SKIRTS

Hey CHICsters,

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. With the first day of Fall swiftly approaching, September 23rd, change is imminent. It's sun is setting a little earlier. The air is getting a little crisper; and fashion choices are changing. It's time to put away those swimsuits and sandals, and pull out light scarves and jackets.

This season, I've noticed that knee as well as midi length leather skirts are in full force as shown on the designer runways for New York Fashion Week. Some shy away from wearing leather bottoms for fear of looking like umm...let's just say, an 80's streetwalker HA! But au contraire, the new look of leather is chic and classy in the new longer as well as fuller silhouettes. They can be worn throughout the season both day and night and even to work when paired with other classic wardrobe staples such as oxford shirts, or turtlenecks.

Check out three different ways to pull off this look all while looking chic below.

RED RED WINE

Hey Fashionistas,

The Midi skirt is still on trend as the season transitions from Summer to Fall. I particularly am drawn to the length of the skirt because it instantly gives you a more ladylike and chic appearance ...which we love.  The wine color of the skirt is a classic color for the season so expect to see tons of it in stores. Here's a look at how I styled this wine midi...

GOOSE BUMPS

Hola CHICsters *waves*,

I hope you all are having a fab start to your week & hope your day is productive. This past weekend, I had such a great time. I was kind of bummed out that I didn't get to go the Oprah, The Life You Want tour that was here in Atlanta Sept 5-6, buttttttt I was able to enjoy another great experience. I had the pleasure of attending the Frankie Beverly & Maze concert, also featuring the talented Ruben Studdard ANDDDDD the Diva herself, Miss Patti LaBelle.

All of the acts were exceptionally well. Folks, let me tell you that I've been to many concerts and live performances, but for 71 years young, Miss Patti just doesn't sing. I'm now convinced that voice is not normal. That woman blows like no other ya heard!!! Her voice gave me goose bumps.

Ok, ok, enough rambling about Miss Patti, here is a look of what I wore to the concert :-)

I found this maxi dress at a boutique while I was in New York City this Summer. It's a convertible maxi that can be worn multiple ways such as a halter, strapless, or this crisscross style as I wore here.

STEP UP YOUR GAME

Hola CHICsters,

I'm soooo glad to be back to working, blogging, and sharing fashion and beauty tips with all of you. Have you seen some of the new trends in footwear for Fall? If not I'll share a few "wearable" looks for you here.

Looking for a new pair of nude pumps for Fall? Well look no further! This patent pair has a 3.25" heel height that's practical for work and it can definitely be worn for happy hour after work. Ya'll know how I love a shoe that I can wear to multiple places.

This aubergine fur slip-ons are a perfect option for a laid back look on the weekends. It is also a comfortable, security check point friendly option for travel as well. I don't know about you all, but unlacing shoes while trying to balance on one leg in a line full of antsy travelers is not my cup of tea. I'd much rather wear something that's easy to slip my feet in and out of in a pinch.

Dear Universe, I don't ever ask for much but these Tom Ford beauties has been on my wish list for a while. Help a girl out...por favor...
Sincerely, Osa
(fingers crossed LOL)

These caged boots would look fierce over a pair of fitted pants or denim. Wear it with some over the knee socks and a skater dress for a fun look.

Well Looky Here!!! I remember wearing sandals with socks and being called "country" but now all of the designers are pairing the combo for Fall 2014.It can be done folks, do not be afraid to step out the box, you's be surprised sat the great looks you come up with.

I love anything leopard print...and so should you! LOL
It's a neutral! Pair it with anything from brights, to neutrals, to prints. I promise you will be amazed at the endless possibilities.

So there you have a few new choices to incorporate into your wardrobe and Step Your Game Up this Fall. New season..new looks...endless possibilities!

xoxo,
Osa

NOT SO ANGRY BIRDS

Hey CHICsters,

Most of you all that either follow me on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook know that I've been totally sick the past few weeks. This epilepsy crap is for the birds!!! 12 seizures in a 10 day span but I think they finally have it under control.

MOR FUN FLORALS

Good Morning CHICsters,

My summer in NYC has been hectic with tons of parties, events, meetings etc...so much so that my body said "pump your brakes" the day before & I was super sick. After a few hours of rest the show went on as I attended MOR, one of the hottest caribbean events of the summer.

Yesterday was a scorcher in the city. It was one of those days where you felt like wearing less clothing but just the thought alone of the sun touching your skin is unbearable.
I chose this floral skater dress which has large scaled white flowers with bright green leaves on a baby pink background.

This dress actually has a low cut back and a high neckline, but I wouldn't be me  if I didn't alter it a bit. I'm wearing the dress backwards, LOL... Low cut in the front just takes the little summer dress up a notch.

The comfiest lace up sandals from Sole Society, paired with a simple Kate Spade watch, and vintage earrings & clutch tied the entire look together.

Total cost (sans shoes) = $19

This just goes to show why I always say, You don't have to spend a million to look like one

Stay tuned for MOR pics of MOR great outfits & MOR fun people from this event!
